Lifestyle Care for Optimizing Health

Chiropractic care is about more than just relieving pain. Yes, it certainly helps neck pain, lower back pain, headaches, etc . And that is a great thing, but did you know that chiropractic patients that receive weekly maintenance care regularly report sleeping better, relief from seasonal allergies, reduction in gastrointestinal distress such as acid reflux, GERD and bloating as well as improvements in mood, energy and focus.

WOW! That’s pretty amazing. Why are regular chiropractic treatments so effective on such a broad spectrum of ailments? The body is an amazing and complex system, with checks and balances that are designed to keep you healthy and in what is called homeostasis. Homeostasis is essentially the state of being balanced. Sounds great right, BUT we live in a world where we are constantly being bombarded with environmental stressors, both physical and emotional, that take a toll on our bodies every day. Think of everything in your day that stresses you out. Some things might be small, running late to a meeting, some things might be substantially draining like dealing with the declining health of a loved one. Individually these stressors may not be that taxing on our bodies, but when you sum the stressors that occur on a daily basis it causes our bodies to go into overload and keeps us out of homeostasis. Now, add in physical stressors like sitting at a desk all day, looking down at a cell phone, a slip and fall that might cause compensating posture and gait. Basically, we are a population of people walking around “out of whack”.

When you receive regular adjustments on a weekly or bi-weekly basis you are helping your nervous system to function properly. Chiropractic adjustments return your body to proper physical alignment and release subluxations that are essentially shutting down communication from the nervous system to your major muscle groups and organs. This promotes optimal health and lets your body do what it is designed to do…keep you healthy, happy and living your best life!
